Ilmu vs Duit

Seingat aku, pernah seorang trainer kursus beritahu,

Ada 3 golongan orang yang datang berkursus. Pertama, datang sebagai pelancong. Kedua, datang sebab dipaksa. Ketiga, datang untuk ilmu.

Kalau ditanya semua peserta kursus, rata-rata ngaku diorang dalam golongan ketiga. Cliche?

Azam dalam hati aku untuk tidak sekali-kali memperlekehkan sebarang kursus. InsyaAllah aku mohon agar takde terdetik nak kata 'course ni utk basic bolehla', 'kursus ni senang sangat', 'tak relevan', blah blah blah

Tanpa sedar, kengkadang kita rendahkan martabat ilmu.

Sorang eksekutif senior dlm satu mesyuarat pernah bagi statement:

"Kita ada set of competencies dan KPI. KPI adalah benda yang kita perlu buat sebagai pekerja, yang akan diukur untuk pemberian ganjaran (bonus)"

"Competency pula adalah 'tools' untuk kita capai KPI kita"

Asas yang jelas, tapi jadi kabur dalam organisasi tempat aku berkerja.

Sebab? Competency 'diikat' (tie-in) dengan ganjaran (duit = increment tahunan). Jadinya bila tiba masa penilaian prestasi, orang yang tak 'competent' pun mengaku dialah paling 'competent', paling pandai, paling mampu capai itu ini.

Sebab, kalau markah competency rendah, increment rendah beb!

Yang bestnya, competency tinggi, tapi KPI rendah. Camno tu?

Pengurus Sumber Manusia tu cakap,

"Daripada taburan markah competency staff, kita boleh kenalpasti jenis kursus dan latihan untuk semua staff. Boleh bridge the gap, dan boleh monitor development setiap staff"

Sejujurnya, kalau kita tak pandai dalam satu bidang tu, mengaku je la. Senang. Nanti HR akan hantar kita utk latihan. Akhirnya kita akan cekap, dan pandai dalam bidang tu.

Risikonya, tak masyuk la. Survival mesti kena ada. Anak bini nak bagi makan.

Tapi duit yang masyuk berkat tak (pasal menipu competency)? Bagi anak bini makan pulak tu.

Bunyi macam bodoh sombong je. Cliche?
